It's All Silver And Blue This Week!

Our first car of note in the Pugsley & Lewis garage workshop for this entry in the diary is a silver DB6 Mk1 Vantage that we picked up from a longstanding customer who's had it in storage for some time.

He decided he wanted it to come alive again so we've re-commissioned it - including draining all the old fuel and cleaning the carburettors for example. In other words, we've put things right that need to be put right and now it's running really well. Having got it running, we made a list of things we felt this car's owner could benefit from in addition to this work to enhance its reliability on the road. The owner was happy to then go ahead with the recommended work so we're working on that just now.

The lovely Ocean blue, DB6 Mk1 here has featured earlier and is an ongoing story in the workshop. For the next step in its journey, the bonnet is off and we're putting an aluminium radiator in it for better cooling.

We took the trailer out a couple of days ago, to pick up a silver DB5. We actually did an engine re-seal and "checkover and put right" a couple of years ago but since then, the owner hasn't been using the car as much as he'd like to. So, when he recently went to get the car started and take it out for a much-anticipated spring drive, he found it wouldn't start. Happily, we've now got it running and now we're doing a bit of fine tuning before we take it through its final road test. It's a lovely car that the owner is going to be able to start enjoying again.

Yesterday, we picked up a V8 which is probably an early 1980's car that hasn't turned a wheel for over 5 or 6 years. It's been in storage since it returned to the UK from abroad. This is a re-commission car which we'll get running nicely then look at a list of other improvements that will make it the kind of car our customer can happily take his family on holiday in.

That's all for this trip around the workshop, we look forward to showing you around next time!
